[Article] CNBLUE’s Jung Yong Hwa: K-Pop Idol Marvel

First of all, I have to say for the record that I am not a card carrying Boice (CNBLUE fan). I like CNBLUE but I don't love love love them (Got the pun?) Still, there is much to be said about CNBLUE's leader Jung Yong Hwa. Objectively speaking, I believe he is an example of a "K-Pop Idol Marvel". Here are some of the reasons why this young man is a hot property in K-Pop land.

Good Looks

Just looking at photos of Jung Yong Hwa and hearts of girls (and women!) go aflutter. Those familiar with the definition of beauty using "The Golden Ratio" or "The Phi" would be interested to know that a doctor actually declared that Jung Yong Hwa has superior genes. His face defined by a sharp jaw line and proportional features was analyzed and found to characterize "The Golden Ratio".

His good looks may not be totally "natural" as Jung Yong Hwa has been known to take oral medication to maintain his skin. His uneven teeth seem to add to his charm. These days, Jung Yong Hwa is working on his physique as well. The idol has surprised his fans with flashes (or more) of his muscular arms. Aside from his face and physique, the sophisticated styling and modern fashions of CNBLUE continue to escalate the rates of Boice's hearts.

Leadership

Jung Yong Hwa is a respected artist not just by his colleagues but also his seniors. Fans who watch behind-the-scenes videos featuring CNBLUE readily observe the genuine bond of the boys. As the band's leader, Jung Yong Hwa may be credited for this close relationship. One distinct incident that describes Jung Yong Hwa's leadership was when he went to talk to the President of FNC (CNBLUE's management) about the possibility of using their own composition as the title track of their last mini album "Ear Fun". Although he did not succeed (jokingly due to a juicy steak dinner), the fact that he was brave enough to stand up for his band mates shows his leadership and commitment to the group. Jung Yong Hwa is considered a musical genius. Aside from his undeniable talent as a singer, the idol also plays guitar and is an accomplished songwriter. Jung Yong Hwa can even write songs in three languages—English, Korean and Japanese. He recently wrote a song for rising star Juniel and has contributed to the soundtracks of the dramas "Heartstrings" and "You're Beautiful". Jung Yong Hwa also plays other instruments including some clarinet, piano and drums.

Personal Background

In terms of his personal background, Jung Yong Hwa comes from a highly respected family who resides in Busan, South Korea. His refined gentlemanly manner was highlighted during his stint as Girls' Generation's Seohyun's "husband" in the reality television show "We Got Married". It was also through this show where fans got to meet and see the close relationship he has with his mother. If his talent and looks don't make him ideal "son-in-law" material, the fact that he still studies in university despite his success may just end any discussion stating otherwise.

With his almost stellar credentials, it is not difficult to say that CNBLUE's Jung Yong Hwa is a "K-Pop Idol Marvel". Is there anything wrong with this guy?!

SBS’ “Running Man” joins the festivities for the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. According to reports in local news agencies, the popular Sunday variety program is set to air an all-star special featuring the hottest idols on the scene.

The special guest line up includes 2PM’s Nichkhun, Super Junior’s Eunhyuk, CNBLUE’s Jung Yong Hwa, BEAST’s Yoon Doojoon, MBLAQ’s Lee Joon and ZE:A’s Im Siwan. T-ara’s Eunjung is the only female idol participating in the special.

Fans and media spotted the filming on July 9 at the Olympic Park with the guests facing off against the “Running Man” cast members. A representative of the production told “Star News,” “The news spread a little bit early on by word of mouth among fans and aroused curiosity on which members from the groups will appear. [News] Girls’ Generation to be first celebrities featured on stamps in Korea!

‘Girls’ Generation My Own Stamps’, postage stamps that features Girls’ Generation, will be sold in the coming August.

According to KoreaPost, “‘Girls’ Generation My Own Stamps’, designed and sold by KoreaPost, will be the first celebrity postage stamps in Korea. We chose Girls’ Generation as our models because they are the center of global K-Pop wave.”

The postage stamps are also designed as a five-year anniversary special for Girls’ Generation. It includes each members’ photo from their album ‘The Boys’ along with their signatures, as well as Girls Generation’s past album jacket images. It has 14 stamps in total.

‘Girls’ Generation My Own Stamps’ will be sold for 20,000 won and it can be seen in the ‘Korean Postage Stamp Expo’, which will take place from August 9th to August 13th, at Seoul Central Post Office as well as approximately fifty central post offices and SamSung Coex.

A representative of KoreaPost has stated, “We expect the Girls’ Generation stamps to broaden Korea’s culture as well as the Postage culture.”

Photos of Girls’ Generation member Seohyun holding an apple have some commenting on her similarity to Snow White.

Seohyun is getting attention for her surprising, fairy-tale-like charm in the pictures, taken during a recent photo shoot.

Wearing a fluffy pink dress and a silver headband, she definitely looks like she could be a princess from a fairy tale. People are saying that Seohyun has the look of a real-life Snow White.

‘Shinhwa Broadcast’ featuring SHINee achieves positive ratings

The collaboration between Shinhwa and SHINee on jTBC‘s ‘Shinhwa Broadcast‘ brought about a positive synergistic effect.
AGB Nielson Media Research released the viewer ratings for the June 2nd episode of ‘Shinhwa Broadcast’ featuring SHINee. This episode reached a viewer rating of 1.274%. Although this was not the highest viewer rating ‘Shinhwa Broadcast’ has attained, it is still considered very good for a cable TV program. A few episodes ago, the program reached 1.371% in ratings.  Regardless, this week’s show is still a 0.434% rise from last week.
Even before the airing of the episode featuring SHINee, the topic became a hot trending issue through SNS. The fans were excited about this episode because SHINee stopped all domestic activities in April, while Shinhwa stopped domestic activities in May.
On this episode of ‘Shinhwa Broadcast’, SHINee chose which Shinhwa member they would like to recruit into their group.  They also competed against each other in games, whereby the winning group stole a member from the other group. Furthermore, SHINee members showed great interest and support in Shinhwa, causing the Shinhwa members to be very happy.

Inai atau dalam bahasa arabnya Al-Hinnaa'/henna. hukum pemakaiannya.

Mazhab Hanbali berpendapat bahawa penggunaan henna (inai) diharuskan untuk mewarnakan pada mana-mana bahagian anggota badan kecuali di kepala sama ada kepada lelaki ataupun perempuan.

Manakala mazhab syafie pula berpendapat bahawa lelaki diharuskan memakai henna (inai) pada mana-mana bahagian tubuh badan KECUALI tangan dan kakinya. Walaubagaimanapun ia dibenarkan sekiranya melibatkan hal-hal perubatan atau darurat. Perempuan yang berada di dalam iddah kerana kematian suaminya juga dilarang memakai inai.

Imam An-nawawi Rh dalam fatwa al-majmu’ berkata lelaki diharamkan memakai inai pada tangan dan kaki kecuali pada rambut mereka. Wanita bersuami diharuskan memakai henna di tangan dan kaki mereka.

Manakala mazhab hanafi dan maliki pula, lelaki dan perempuan diharamkan ke atas mana-mana tubuh anggota kerana ia adalah sama seperti memakai wangian.

Ini diriwayatkan daripada Khawlah Bint Hakim daripada ibunya bahawa Rasulullah S.A.W memberitahu kepada Umm Salamah, “Jangan memakai sebarang wangian ketika kamu berada dalam ihram. Juga pada henna kerana ia juga adalah wangian.” (Diriwayatkan oleh At-Tabarani dalam Al-Kabir, Al-Baihaqi dalam Al-Ma’rifah, dan Ibn Abdil Barr di dalam At-tamheed)

Diriwayatkan dari Aishah bahawa seorang wanita mengisyaratkan di belakang tabir bahawa dia ingin menyampaikan surat kepada baginda S.A.W. lalu baginda melihat tangan itu seraya baginda bersabda: “Aku tidak tahu sama ada ini tangan lelaki atau perempuan.” Perempuan itu menjawab: “Aku adalah seorang wanita.” Baginda bersabda: “Sekiranya kamu seorang perempuan, berbezalah dengan memakai henna (inai) dijarimu.” (hadith riwayat abu dawud)

Abu Hurairah .a meriwayatkan bahawa seorang mukhannath (khunsa) yang mewarnakan tangannya dengan henna (inai) dibawa ke hadapan rasulullah. Dikatakan kepada Rasulullah S.A.W: "Wahai Rasulullah. Lelaki ini cuba menyerupai wanita." Lalu lelaki itu dihalau dari al-baqi' (sebagai hukuman, dihantar ke tempat yang terpencil supaya dijauhi dari orang ramai). Lalu mereka bertanya kepada rasulullah S.a.w: "Kenapa dia tidak dibunuh?" Lalu baginda S.A.W bersabda: "Aku dilarang membunuh mereka yang bersembahyang." (Diriwayatkan oleh ABu Dawud, Sahih Al-Jaami', 2502)

3 hadith di dalam hal ini, wanita diharuskan memakai inai pada tangan dan kaki mereka TETAPI berwaspada sekiranya tujuan pemakaiannya adalah untuk seperti memakai wangian dengan tujuan tabarruj, maka ia adalah haram.

Hadith yang kedua dan ketiga, bahawa galakan rasulullah S.A.W menyuruh kaum wanita untuk memakai inai pada tangan adalah untuk berbeza antara lelaki dan perempuan. DI sini datang pula hadith S.A.W bahawa Allah melaknat lelaki yang menyerupai perempuan dan perempuan yang menyerupai lelaki.

Girls’ Generation member Seohyun proved she had the brains to go with her beautiful looks.

On the May 18th broadcast of SBS‘s ‘100 Million Quiz Show‘, Seohyun solved a number of different quiz questions.

Not only did she give the right answers, she calmly accompanied her responses with thorough explanations.
Seohyun surprised everyone by answering each question correctly, and in the end was crowned the MVP of the program.

2PM’s Taecyeon Sent to Hospital with Broken Arm

It was just reported that 2PM’s Taecyeon broke his arm in Japan and was sent to the hospital immediately upon his arrival in Korea earlier today. Initial reports say he broke his arm while arm-wrestling other 2PM members at his hotel in Japan last night.
“Taecyeon arrived in Korea on May 16 around 11AM and was sent to the hospital around 1PM to receive more in-depth treatment. He injured his left arm and shoulder area. We’re not sure if it’ll require surgery at this point. We won’t find out if Taecyeon can join the concert yet, but unless something drastic happens, he’ll show up at the concert,” an official was quoted as saying.
“After their schedule was over last night (May 15), Taecyeon and the rest of the 2PM members had a arm wrestling match, and that’s when he broke his arm. All the 2PM members have developed arm muscles, and they suffer a lot of injuries because of that. We haven’t received any results yet, so it’s hard to say what will happen at this point,” another source was quoted as saying.
2PM will start their solo live concert, “6 Beautiful Days,” at the Budokan Theater in Japan starting from May 24. They will also have their Arena Concert on June 5 and 6 in Yokohama, Japan.

Ratings for Girls’ Generation YoonA’s “Love Rain” Dip…Again…

While it seemed as if ratings for KBS “Love Rain,” starring Jang Geun Suk and Girls’ Generation’s YoonA, were seeing an upwards trend for a short period of time, last night’s episode proved otherwise. “Love Rain” recoded 5.2% (AGB Nielsen) for its sixteenth episode, dropping 0.8%.
During last night’s episode, Seo In Ha (Jung Jin Young) chose his son, Seo Joon (Jang Geun Suk) over his love, Kim Yoon Yee (Lee Mi Sook), breaking off the wedding to allow his son a chance at his happiness. Not knowing of their parent’s final decision, Seo Joon and Jung Hana (YoonA) decide to go ahead with their relationship.
Meanwhile, MBC’s “Light and Shadows” remained in the lead with 22.8%, while SBS “Fashion King” recorded 9.5%.

Girls’ Generation Wows Fans and Korea Yakult Staff with ‘LOOK’ Advertisement Campaign

With one light shining down on them, the “girls” walk onto the stage with a confident pose. Like falling stars, the crystal accessories make the girls’ every step shine.

Sooyoung, dressed in a pink and black striped dress, dominated the stage like a supermodel, while Jessica showed off her sexiness by exposing her stomach with her shirt fluttering in the wind.

This scene, which looked like a grand fashion show being held in a foreign country, was a CF for Korea Yakult’s diet product, “LOOK”. The nine members gathering together despite their busy individual and unit activities also garnered attention. The CF was divided into a TV and movie version and has become a hot issue amongst netizens after behind-the-scenes footage showed staff members making “cameo” appearances in the CFs.

This CF was filmed in April at a studio in Kyunggi-do. It was a hard schedule that started at 10 AM and ended the following day at 3 AM. The person in charge of the Yakult CF stated, “The hardest thing to do was choosing a day to film, because it was not easy getting all nine Girls’ Generation members in one place at the same time.”

One staff member stated, “Everyone on set was overwhelmed by Sooyoung and Yoona’s ‘doll-like bodies’. Everyone stopped and stared at the charisma they gave off when walking down the runway.”

They filmed CFs which will be shown on television and others to be shown on alternative mediums. Other than Girls’ Generation, the people who appeared in them were staff members on set, the advertiser, and the promoter.

The assistant manager of Korea Yakult’s Integrated Marketing and Communication’s team, Seo In-Ho, revealed what it was like on the set, saying, “Their [Girls' Generation's] manners are also on the level of global stars. You couldn’t find any domineering attitude from them, and they looked like cute younger sisters, taking photos with their smartphones together when resting.”

The homepage for “LOOK” also proved Girls’ Generation’s explosive popularity. The website, http://www.dietlook.co.kr, which provides wallpapers, making films, and model photo downloads, has been recording an average of over 10,000 visitors a day.

Meanwhile, a staff member of Korea Yakult revealed, “The second CF for ‘LOOK’, matched with the summer season, will be revealed in early July.”

Tiffany and Seohyun Talk About Girls’ Generation’s Life Span and Seohyun’s Pure Image on ‘Talk Concert’

On May 10th, Tiffany and Seohyun appeared on MBC’s “Joo Byungjin’s Talk Concert”, along with labelmates Leeteuk and Eunhyuk from Super Junior and TVXQ’s Yunho and Changmin. On the show, Tiffany and Seohyun talked about the life span of girl groups and their hope to continue promoting as Girls’ Generation, as well as Seohyun’s troubles with her “proper lifestyle” image.

Tiffany stated, “When Girls’ Generation first debuted, it’s true that I thought, ‘We’ll probably last about five years, tops.’ But as we continued to promote, I wanted to be active as Girls’ Generation even more and wanted to continue on together.” She added, “One would expect to become greedy for individual activities, but I want to promote together as a group more.”

Seohyun added, “There are a lot of people who don’t think girl groups last very long, but Girls’ Generation wants to break that theory.”

Later in the show, Seohyun discussed the difficulties that come with her “proper lifestyle” image. She admitted, “People think of my entire image as a kid who lives a straight and narrow life, so I can feel myself not being able to act comfortably. I’ve been thinking that I want to go through some different life experiences and have been learning a lot while living with my other members.”

She continued, “People think, ‘That girl Seohyun sleeps at twelve o’clock, is strict on herself, and has a lot of things she shouldn’t do’. At one point, I felt like I was holding myself down too much. I have had a lot of worries lately.”

TVXQ’s Changmin reassured her, saying, “As another person who lived as the youngest member of an idol group at such a young age, there are a lot of things that I agree on and can sympathize with.”

[News] Girls’ Generation – TTS Appears on ‘Hello’

On May 14th, Girls’ Generation members Taeyeon, Tiffany and Seohyun appeared on KBS 2TV’s “Hello”, in which the three showed off their variety skills, revealing a couple of unknown tidbits about each other in the process.

In the episode, Taeyeon’s interest in basic comedy was brought to light when she burst into laughter at MC Shin Dongyup’s comment, “I didn’t fart”, when he introduced the story of Ga Jungdae, a man who is accused of “things” because he can’t smell.

Ga Jundgae, who says he “has trouble living an ordinary life” because he cannot smell the foulest of things, mentioned that he doesn’t shower because he can’t smell himself, but “other people feel uncomfortable” because of his smell. This prompted comments from the MCs about farts throughout the program and brought attention to Taeyeon, who laughed every time the word was mentioned. Tiffany showed Taeyeon’s love for basic comedy by saying, “If you talk about farts, Taeyeon will continue to laugh. She likes dirty topics in particular.” Taeyeon herself added, while laughing, “Out of fart stories, poop farts are the funniest,” causing the entire studio to erupt with laughter.

Continuing with the foul-smelling theme, some of the world’s foulest-smelling food was prepared, causing pandemonium in the studio. Foods such as fermented tofu from China, and surströmming, a type of soured herring from Sweden, were tasted by the MCs, stunning them, but the smell proved too much for Tiffany. She stated, “I’m sensitive when it comes to smells, so I would like to ask for deodorizer,” before leaving the set with a scrunched up face to the top of the slide, saying that she couldn’t take the smell anymore. Ga Jungdae, however, when tasting the food, simply said it was salty, completely unbothered by the smell.

After trying some of the smelly food, Lee Youngja introduced a story titled “Girlfriend Who Gained 30kg From Eating Bread”, which led to questions on the highly-talked about “Girls’ Generation Diet Menu”. After Lee Youngja shook her head, stating that she “just can’t understand that”, Tiffany replied that the girls themselves were just as surprised. The menu, which listed eight cherry tomatoes and six strawberries, was completely dismissed by Tiffany, who said that Girls’ Generation “can’t promote if [we] eat like that.” When asked about their favourite foods, Taeyeon replied that Tiffany is “crazy for unagi”, a freshwater eel, causing Tiffany to laugh shyly.

[News] Taetiseo shares an awkward moment with a Wonder Girls’ fan on ‘Hello’

The latest episode of KBS‘ ‘Hello‘ featured Girls’ Generation‘s sub-unit, Taetiseo. The three members, Taeyeon, Tiffany, and Seohyun appeared on the show to listen to the worries of the public.

One of those who had submitted his concern was a young man, who was stressed out about the comparison between himself and his older brother. While he stands at 156 cm (~ 5’1″) tall, and is not good at academics nor athletics, his older brother stands at 181 cm tall (~5’11), possesses good looks, and ranks in the top in terms of academics and athletics.

As he made his entrance, the emcees all remarked, “You’re cute!”, in an attempt to help boost up the young man’s self confidence. However he flatly stated, “I hate being called cute!”.

The MCs asked the young man, “So do you get upset even if beautiful women like Taetiseo call you cute?“. However contrary to everyone’s expectations, he responded, “I actually like Wonder Girls.”

After hearing this, the girls seemed a bit taken aback and the MCs hilariously suggested that Taetiseo take revenge on him by calling him by the word he hates. The members brought laughter as each of them gave him a dirty look and remarked, “You are so cute.”

The young man’s older brother remarked later that as he and his brother are complete opposites, he is a fan of Girls’ Generation while his younger brother likes the Wonder Girls.
